Ouch! Samsung Galaxy S II available on pre-order now

Galaxy S II - Samsung's most advanced phone up to date - has just popped on pre-order at a UK online retailer. The offer says it can be yours on 31 March for £650. This price will definitely empty lots of wallets.
We know flagships are meant to cost a lot, but that's a small fortune. The UK online retailer Play.comoffers the gadget on pre-order for £650, which is about €760 and more than $1050.

Our only hope is the price gets reduced near the premiere. Otherwise there will be quite few early adopters.
Update: We just found a couple of other retailers that offer it at the more reasonable price of €600 and even a Swiss shop that has it for €550 with a late May shipping schedule.

HTC Desire S due in April for 500 euro, Incredible S priced 520 euro

The brand new HTC Desire S and Incredible S are available on pre-order online. The Desire S is set for an April launch date (in the UK at least), while the Incredible S launch still doesn't have a fixed date.

Amazon UK and Expansys UK both have the HTC Desire S on pre-order with 18 April set as the launch date. Amazon has priced the aluminum unibody droid at £419.99, while Expansys has it at £429.99.

Amazon Germany has the Desire S too for €499, which works out to the same price but no release date is set. It's available in black and silver color options.
As we already told you, Vodafone UK will also offer the HTC Desire S, along with Wildfire S and the ChaCha.

The HTC Incredible S is also on Amazon Germany's site, for €519, which seems a pretty small difference for the bigger screen (4" vs. 3.7") and higher-res camera (8MP vs. 5MP, both with 720p).

Then again, the Incredible S will run Android 2.2 Froyo at launch (with Gingerbread coming later) and the differences between the two droids aren't that big - here are the specs head-to-head.

MWC 2011 awards: iPhone 4 is best device, HTC - best maker

The Global Mobile Awards just announced the winners for 2011. A couple of phone makers and several software developers were honored this year. Some of the winners were expected, while others came as a surprise.
We'll take a quick look at the two more interesting categories - the App Awards and Best Mobile devices award. You can check out the full list of winners and the GSMA judges' comments over at the Award's website.

The Apple iPhone 4 was chosen for the Best Mobile Device award, commended for its sharp screen, build materials and last but not least - the "phenomenal" ecosystem for apps and their developers.

The Device Manufacturer of the Year award was snatched up by HTC. The company built itself up from obscurity with fresh branding and marketing and offers a solid portfolio across software platforms. Their Android offerings stand out the most though, especially the HTC Desire. HTC also received a pat on the back for good customer service.

On the software side, Rovio scored both the App of the Year on the Apple Platform and the overallBest Mobile App award.


Google and BlackBerry won the awards for best app on their own platforms, for Google Maps and BlackBerry Messenger respectively. Herocraft & InnerActive are taking home the "App of the Year on the Nokia Platform" award for the Zum Zum game.

Toshiba Tablet dual screen competitors IPAD

Incredible S, Desire S and Wildfire S by HTC

That early leak was mostly confirmed - HTC just announced the Incredible S, Desire S and the Wildfire S. The letter S tacked on the back of their model names do little to justify the new release. The three phones are not exactly full of new features.
The leader of the pack, the HTC Incredible S, is not the Desire HD2 from the early leak. It's actually pretty similar to the Droid Incredible. The phone measures 120 x 64 x 11.7 mm, weighing 135.5 grams with recognizable Incredible styling.
The major difference is the screen - a 4.0" WVGA Super LCD, a first for HTC. It also has one pretty unique feature - the icons of the capacitive keys rotate with the screen. There's no Bluetooth 3.0 or HDMI, just BT2.1, Wi-Fi b/g/n and DLNA.

The Incredible S runs Android (reportedly Froyo) with HTC Sense on a 1GHz Qualcomm CPU (info on it is scarce) with 768MB RAM. On the back there's an 8MP autofocus camera with LED flash and 720p video (that's right, Full HD recording is not among the HTC offerings) and a secondary 1.3MP front-facing camera.
The HTC Desire S has an aluminum unibody (just like the Legend). With a 3.7" WVGA screen, the handset is powered by a 1.2Ghz Qualcomm chipset - so it's got a single-core CPU, 768MB RAM and Adreno 205 graphics. It should ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The Desire S camera is a 5MP snapper with 720p video capture, coupled with a VGA camera up front. There's been a minor reduction in the overall size of the HTC Desire S - 115 x 59.8 x 11.63mm and 130 grams. Wi-Fi 802.11n support has been added and data speeds have increased to 14.4Mbps downlink and 5.76Mbps uplink.

Other than that, it's same old same old. Which rings true for the HTC Wildfire S too. The phone is actually more related to the Aria with a 3.2" HVGA display, but HTC are keen to make a point that it's their smallest smartphone yet (that means shorter than the original Wildfire and the Aria/Gratia).

The HTC Wildfire S is 101.3mm tall, 59.4mm wide and 12.4mm deep (the Aria measures 103.8 x 57.7 x 11.7mm). Anyway, the phone runs a Sensed Android (should be ver 2.3 Gingerbread again) on a 600MHz CPU with 512MB RAM. It has a 5MP camera with LED flash and a microSD card slot.
Curiously, the Wildfire S has Bluetooth 3.0 and NFC support (the other two don't) along with Wi-FI b/g/n.
The Desire S and Wildfire S will be "broadly available" across Europe and Asia some time in Q2 2011. The HTC Incredible S will be out next month.

HTC overview

HTC announced five new Android phones today along with a 7-inch tablet. Three of the phones Incredible S, Desire S and Wildfire S are updates on old material. The HTC Salsa and ChaCha have dedicated Facebook buttons, while tablet curiously does not run Android 3.0 Honeycomb, but sticks to the older 2.x OS.

HTC Incredible S

The HTC Incredible S has a 4" WVGA screen and packs an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash and 720p video capture. Some of it's other specs are underwhelming - it will launch with Android 2.2 Froyo and just a single-core 1GHz CPU.

HTC Desire S

The HTC Desire S has an aluminum unibody and a 3.7" WVGA screen. Its camera is just a 5MP snapper but can record 720p video too. It packs a 1.2GHz processor and will launch with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

HTC Wildfire S

The HTC Wildfire S has a 3.2" HVGA screen, 600MHz CPU and 512MB RAM. It will launch with Android 2.3 Gingerbread too, which just embarrasses the Incredible S.

Samsung unpacks the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 10.1

Samsung kicked off their pre-MWC event tonight. The "new" announcements about the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 10.1 include very few things we didn't already know from previous leaks. But still, it was interesting.


Samsung Galaxy S II
First off we have the Galaxy S II, that was showcased feature by feature. One of the most important things is the Super AMOLED Plus display, which is the successor of the groundbreaking screen the Samsung Wave pioneered last year's MWC.

The screen on the Galaxy S II is a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive unit. Samsung claims that this is the best display technology in the world and surpasses LCD IPS by leaps.
The processor of the Galaxy S II is dual-core and quoted as the most powerful processor in a phone today. It will have great gaming capabilities through an improved GPU. The smartphone uses a Samsung's own Orion system-on-a-chip and yes, it does have 1GB worth of RAM.

The phone is extremely light and thin at just 8.49mm thickness and 116 grams worth of bulk, that's not bad at all, given that the Samsung Galaxy S II has a 1650 mAh battery inside.
1080p video recording and playback have been confirmed just like with the Optimus 2X. The Adobe Flash 10.1 is there to give you the full web-browsing experience.
Finally, the 3-axis Gyroscope and Accelerometer sensors are confirmed as well.
The new UI, or should we say UX (standing for user experience), of the Galaxy S successor looks really interesting and we can't wait to have a hands-on with it. It looks nothing like Android and should be fully customizable. It will feature 4 hubs by Samsung - the Reader, the Game, the Music and the Social ones. In the keynote Samsung showcased them all.

The Reader hub gives you access to Books, Magazines and Newspapers. The Social hub is interesting, though, as it gives you the opportunity to connect to the people in your life via various ways. Mail, chat, video chat, all incorporated into a single app.
Samsung are paying a lot of attention to the security side of things with their new flagship. The main focus is on the things you're now able to do, should you lose your Galaxy S II smartphone. You can remote lock, remote wipe, remotely control your phone - blacklist certain apps you don't want the thieves to have access to. And finally, see your device on a map.

Galaxy Tab 10.1
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 also made the scene tonight. It was left for last and didn't really get a whole lot of attention in tonight's press announcement, but really we already know all about it.

Focus fell on its key selling points, the 10.1 inch 1280x800 WXGA screen, the 10.9mm thickness and 599g weight.
It will have two cameras - an 8 megapixel one on the back, that can record FullHD 1080p video and a 2 megapixel one on the front for video chat and self-portraits. Stereo speakers on both sides and 6850 mAh battery are the last bits of info, given on the hardware. 1080p video will be encoded as well as decoded on the device itself.

Sony Ericsson announces XPERIA Play, Neo and Pro

This just in - Sony Ericsson announced the XPERIA Neo and the XPERIA Pro. The XPERIA Play was uncovered too, specs and all. The Neo and the Pro are like smaller-screen versions of the Arc but the Pro adds a QWERTY keyboard to the mix.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play packs a 4" FWVGA (that's 480 x 854 pixels) display and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread (with a customized UI aimed at gaming).
As expected, the XPERIA Play has slide-out game controls and also a touch-sensitive areas. The CPU is a 1GHz Snapdragon. The Play packs a latest Adreno GPU, which will provide 60fps gameplay in 3D games.
The Play measures 119x62x16mm and weighs 175 grams. It features a 5MP camera and has an 8GB microSD card in the box.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play is the first PlayStation Certified device and will have access to content from publishers like Sony Computer Entertainment, Electronic Arts, Gameloft, Namco and more.
The XPERIA Play will be available in March first. Interestingly, Sony Ericsson has scored a deal with Verizon US, which will start selling the Play in April.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo is much like the XPERIA Arc. It features a smaller 3.7" FWVGA display, but it's again dubbed as Reality Display with Bravia Mobile engine. It's covered with a scratch-resistant surface so it won't lose its luster.
The XPERIA Neo camera is an 8MP Exmor R unit capable of HD video recording. The onboard HDMI port can be used to display what you've captured on a big HDTV display (or you could use DLNA to do the same wirelessly).
The Neo is even powered by the same single-core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor as the Arc and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo measures 116x57x13mm and weighs 126 grams. An 8GB microSD card will be in the box.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pro is to the Neo like the X10 mini pro was to the X10 mini. It's a QWERTY droid with 3.7" FWVGA Reality Display (scratch-resistant too), 1GHz Snapdragon (MSM8255 again).
The XPERIA Pro has a slide-out four row QWERTY keyboard but it's actually not much bigger than the Neo. It measures 120x57x13.5 and weighs 140 grams. There will be an Office document editor out of the box to really make that keyboard useful.

The similarities continue - the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pro uses an Exmor R sensor (probably 8MP but that is not confirmed yet), it has an HDMI port, DLNA and an 8GB microSD card.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pro will be available in Q1. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo will come in late Q2 (though the Sony Ericsson just said it will launch in March).

Firstly, there's the 4-inch OLED screen to play with - it's big, high contrast and still seems to fit the overall chassis.The anodised silver frame (although it apparently comes in many colours) is as attractive as the N8, and the depth of the Nokia E7 is more palatable given there's a QWERTY keyboard underneath.The same connections are present with the E7 too, with an HDMI-out, 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, although the camera is slightly less powerful at 8MP (but still with LED flash).In both portrait and landscape mode, the Nokia E7 fits nicely in the hand, although smaller palms might suffer somewhat - but that's the price you pay for a screen of this size.

Nokia E7 hits the shelves in Finland, sets you back 599 euro

Nokia officially announced availability information about the flagship E7. Currently, the phone is available for purchase from the Nokia’s Flagship store in Helsinki, Finland and other Nokia flagship stores.

The Nokia E7 packs a 4” ClearBlack AMOLED touchscreen with a QWERTY keyboard running the Symbian^3 OS. Featuring an 8MP snapper with dual-LED flash at the back, the device also holds for you 16 gigabytes of on-board memory.
For now the device is available only in selected stores and should start hitting the shelves of other retailers around 16 February at around €599 for an unlocked SIM version.

Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570

Mini phones are a hot commodity. They are desirable and fill a market gap of small, easy-to-carry devices, which can lift mountains despite their size. Now Samsung wants to have a go at that market with the Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570.
The Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 is expected to be pretty affordable for what it has to offer and that’s always a good thing. Powering the device is an ARMv6 600Mhz, which doesn’t sound like much, but with Froyo 2.2 on top, it’s sufficient for everyday usage.

As you can see the major compromise in the specs sheet is the screen resolution. Android looks bad on QVGA screens. Samsung have done some sub pixel modifications to the fonts and icons to make them look good and more legible on the Galaxy Mini but we feel that will remain our primary grudge with the handset.
On the positive side, that compromise might as well mean that the Galaxy Mini will be among the most affordable Android smartphones on the market.
The Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 feels nice in hand. It has a thin profile and the materials used are nice to touch.
We have the pleasure of getting a pre-release test unit and since it’s an early prototype, it’s not quite ready for prime time so we’ll be doing only a quick preview of the device instead of a full-fledged review.

Why register
Here are several good reasons to register:
• Your nickname is reserved for you and you'll get it pre-filled when you post later. Logging back in takes only a single click (if you're currently signed in your Facebook account).
• Each post will have clear indication if it was posted anonymously or if it's from a registered user. Posts from registered users also carry more credibility.
• Comments from registered users have to pass through fewer checks and are more likely to be published straight away without prior checking.
• Your real name (along with other personal info and profile photos) is protected. We'll never publish any part of it along with your post. Only your nickname of choice will be listed.
• Registering is super fast - as fast as you can come up with a nickname. You can also change your nickname as often as you'd like.
• If you share an IP with someone and they get banned, it won't affect you. Sometimes we ban repeat offenders by IP, or a whole IP range if they have a dynamic IP, so you might be affected even if you didn't do anything wrong.
• Having an account will give you access to some cool features, which we plan to introduce in the near future - posts editing, posts rating, poll voting and more.
• Unregistering is easy - you can always sever the link between Facebook and GSMArena.

Tips mengangkat komedo

Komedo adalah Kotoran penyumbat pori-pori ini berbentuk kecil, berwarna hitam atau putih. Dengan komedo, wajah halus terlihat kotor dan kusam. Komedo muncul akibat terjadinya penumpukan minyak berlebih (sebum), serta sel kulit mati. Saat membersihkan wajah, komedo sering terabaikan.
Mungkin masalah yang satu ini semua orang pasti pernah mengalaminya. Saya akan memberikan sedikit tips cara menghilangkan komedo

1. Gunakan putih telur
* Ambil sedikit putih telur, tempatkan di wadah, kocok hingga berbusa. Oleskan di sekitar hidung atau bagian wajah yang berkomedo. Tutup dengan tisu. Biarkan hingga benar-benar kering. Lepaskan tisu secara perlahan. Di bagian dalam tisu, akan terlihat bintik-bintik komedo yang terangkat.

2. Scrub sayur dan masker kacang
* Blender selembar daun kailan, selembar daun seledri, ¼ buah apel, campur dengan perasan jeruk lemon. Usapkan dan pijat lembut wajah dengan scrub sayur ini, lalu bilas.
* Uapi wajah dengan air panas yang telah diberi 1 sdm garam. Biarkan 10 menit. Uap air garam akan membuka pori-pori, memperlebar pembuluh darah kapiler di bawah kulit dan memperlancar peredarah darah ke kulit.

* Campur sari kacang kedelai dan kacang polong, gunakan sebagai masker, diamkan 30 menit, bilas. Gunakan beberapa kali.
